About Us
John Kraljevich Americana was founded in 2007 after a lifetime of study and a career as a leading researcher and cataloguer for several high profile numismatic firms. A native of historic Chester County, Pennsylvania and a graduate of the University of Virginia, John has been sought out for his expertise on early numismatic Americana since his teen years. For over a decade, he has been a popular annual instructor on early American topics at the American Numismatic Association’s Summer Seminar. A regular columnist in the ANA journal The Numismatist and the national bi-weekly Coin World, John has been honored for his research and writing by the American Numismatic Association and the Numismatic Literary Guild. Several auction catalogues penned by John have become classic reference works, including the LaRiviere Collection of Betts and Indian Peace medals, the Eliasberg Collection of world gold coins, and the Roehrs Collection of Regulated Gold. John has been elected by his peers as a member of the Rittenhouse Society, an honorary fraternity of numismatic researchers, and as a Fellow of the American Numismatic Society. His counsel has been sought by institutions such as the Smithsonian Institution, Colonial Williamsburg, the Massachusetts Historical Society, Monticello, and others, and he has been quoted on numismatic topics by mainstream media around the world, including CNN, the Associated Press, National Public Radio, and the BBC.
